Today was a great day.  The students were dressed and ready to defend their projects, answer questions, etc.  I went with the adults to the Forbidden City.  We had perfect weather and a great experience with our interpreter-Jeremy.  Everyone was in awe of the strong presence of architecture and size of the facility. We also visited the Pearl Market which is a well know location for purchasing gifts and jewelry.  We had limited amount of time, but made good use of every minute.  Great shopping!  Good companionship and discussion on the ride back. Three of the students took first place at the awards ceremony!  Wow, what a great ending to the day.

Today was a good day for the students and adults. We visited the Summer Palace with other delegation members!  Well coordinated with local guides.  We had lunch before visiting the Silk Market which has changed in uniformity from last year, and finished the evening with dinner out.  Long, but good day.

A few of the adults had breakfast this morning and gave gifts to two of the three interpreters (last night one of the interpreters was given his gifts because he had class this morning and would not be able to go with us to the airport).  Fran met with BAST officials and I returned to the room to pack.  We are scheduled to leave the hotel at 11:30 a.m. for the airport.  Great experience in Beiing this year!  Students were terrific and adults also.
