Russ: Megan and Rachel win big

The whirlwind of the past couple days capped off nicely with Megan and Rachel taking home prizes for innovation in research. Megan’s 2,000 Yuan prize ($322 USD) was sponsored by the Beijing University of Technology. Rachel’s 2,000 Yuan prize was sponsored by the Beijing University of Science and Technology.

Rachael and Peter also took a second place general prize for foreign participants.

The closing ceremony was a lavish and lively production featuring dancers, music, and traditional Chinese shadow puppet theater. The emcee for the evening was a famous Chinese children television celebrity.

There’s more awards coming tomorrow so this ball game isn’t over yet.
